David Chargin

Program Manager

David Chargin has extensive experience in mechatronics and precision engineering. His background is in computer-controlled, high-bandwidth servo motion systems for nanometer-scale applications, consisting of both lithographic and single point diamond turning systems for micromachining applications. At Fraunhofer USA CMI, he pursues research in the design of stable, non-contact metrology for nanoscale measurements incorporating both thermal control and low-expansion materials.

As a program manager at Fraunhofer USA CMI, he co-leads our custom automation group with Holger Wirz.  He has spent the last 15+ years working serving clients from a diverse range of industries, specializing in integrating novel technologies to modernize manufacturing automation. He focuses on ensuring that the unique challenges of each client's application are successfully addressed.

David Chargin received his M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science Engineering from the University of California, Davis.
