Tsz Yip is a member of the Grid Integration group. He specializes in Micro-grid and Hybrid energy system design, system control, M&S (modeling and simulation), and I&T (integration and test) with a focus on Energy Storage and Renewable Generation.
Before Tsz joined Fraunhofer CSE, he was a Senior Electrical Engineer for the Power and Electronic Systems Department at Raytheon Company. Tsz was the electrical lead on various internal and customer funded research projects for defense applications that focused on hybrid energy systems, alternative energy systems, and facility Micro-grid systems. He received his BS in Computer Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology and received an MS in Electrical Engineering from Northeastern University.
Tsz likes speaking to advance STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) interest in middle and high school students. In his spare time, Tsz enjoys bowling and woodworking. His other full time job is renovating his home.
